About
I spent a long time living someone else's version of a good life.
Then I stopped.
I'm Dr. Kim Brodie. I'm a writer, a traveler, a recovering people-pleaser, and someone who spent the better part of two decades building a life that looked exactly right from the outside — and felt completely wrong on the inside.
I had the credentials. The title. The house. The relationship. The schedule packed so full there was no room to ask whether any of it was actually mine.
The unraveling started quietly. A trip I took alone. A journal I started keeping. A question I couldn't stop asking: what would I do if I wasn't afraid?
What would I do if I wasn't afraid? I've been living that question ever since.
The work that changed everything.
I'm a licensed psychologist. I've spent years in rooms with people who are quietly suffering — not because their lives are falling apart, but because they've built lives that don't fit. I know that room. I've sat in it myself.
The inner work isn't a detour from the good life. It is the good life. Learning to sit with what's uncomfortable. Telling the truth about what you want. Letting go of the version of yourself you built for other people.
That's what I write about. That's what I teach. That's what I'm still learning, every single day.
Now Go Be Free.
This platform is where I put everything I've learned — and everything I'm still figuring out. The essays, the travel dispatches, the honest conversations about what it actually takes to build a life that feels like yours.
It's not a self-help site. It's not a brand. It's a place where I write the things I wish someone had said to me when I was in the middle of becoming.
You're welcome here exactly as you are.
